Wellspring United Kingdom is located on the Streatham Campus of Exeter University, in the heart of the beautiful county of Devon in the South West of England. While close to the historic city of Exeter, it is within easy reach of miles of coastline and rolling countryside.

On campus, we utilise the first-rate facilities for nutrition and culinary instruction, team sports, personal training, and fun with staff and friends. From here, we venture into the local area for an exciting array of activities — exploring the rivers, coastline, towns, and beautiful countryside. There is a reason people from all over the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East come to County of Devon for their holiday—the location and scenery offer an amazing opportunity to explore and develop an active lifestyle.

Wellspring UK includes a Lower Camp for ages 11 – 17 years old, plus an Upper Camp for young adults aged 18 – 24. Both Upper and Lower Camps are geared to the capabilities and expectations of that age group to maximize effectiveness. Three, six and nine week courses are available.

Each summer, Wellspring UK students average weight loss of over 2.0 kg. per week. Typically, a number of students lose nearly 20 kg. during the course.

Unlike fat camps, Wellspring UK is focused on long-term, life-changing success, not just weight loss while at the programme. In fact, over 70% of participants in Wellspring courses from the summers 2004-2009 maintained or continued weight loss 9 months after returning home. To read a selection of student success stories

The Wellspring Plan
The key to our students' long-term success is the Wellspring Plan, a simple, scientific and sustainable approach to adolescent weight loss. Unlike traditional fat camps or weight loss clinics, the Wellspring Plan focuses on changing behaviours, involving families, and providing Continuing Care after camp ends.

We invite you to explore our site and discover why Wellspring is among the most effective fitness and weight loss programmes developed for any age group. Don't miss your chance to experience life-changing weight loss this summer.

Wellspring New York is located on the beautiful and historic 100-acre campus of Union College in Upstate New York, only a couple of hours from New York City. With world-class facilities and comfortable air-conditioned rooms, Wellspring New York is the ideal place to have a transformative summer.

Because you'll be losing weight alongside young women just like you, you'll find the Wellspring New York environment extremely safe and supportive. Young women are divided into three age-specific programs; Jr. Varsity Camp (youngest girls, from age 11), Varsity Camp, and Collegiate Camp (ages 18+).  Each program provides every participant the opportunity to develop  lasting friendships and learn core weight loss skills, as well as other relevant training for their stage of life.  For example, at our Collegiate Camp for young women over 18, participants learn specific skills for maintaining or continuing weight loss in the college environment, and have behavioral coaching sessions that focus on common college stressors.

The Wellspring Plan

Unlike fat camps or traditional weight loss camps, Wellspring New York is designed so you'll lose weight and have the strategies and skills to keep the weight off for good. Wellspring New York utilizes the scientifically-proven Wellspring Plan, resulting in consistent weight loss of around 4 lbs. per week.  And best of all, over 70% of Wellspring participants maintain or continue weight loss at home.

The Wellspring Plan includes:
Diet Management: You'll enjoy a fantastic daily menu that leaves you feeling full and satisfied. We even offer gourmet cooking classes so you learn how to eat right, but also eat well!
Activity Management: Campers enjoy activities like Pilates, personal training, white water rafting, water aerobics, mountain biking, canoeing, aerobic kick-boxing, rock climbing, swimming, soccer, yoga and many, many others. Plus we offer trips to Six Flags Great Escape, Enchanted Forest, and New York City, as well as movies, picnics in the park, and shopping trips.
Behavioral Change: As a fundamental part of the Wellspring New York program, participants work with Masters- and Doctoral-level Behavioral Coaches in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) sessions. Critical for long-term weight loss success, these sessions help campers set and meet goals, identify and navigate around barriers to weight loss, increase frustration tolerance and improve stress management skills.
Continuing Care: Our commitment to your child’s weight loss doesn’t end when he or she leaves camp. Rather, we offer Continuing Care through June 1, 2014, with ongoing support from behavioral coaches and online self-monitoring so that habits learned at camp transition to the home environment.

Weight Loss Vacation Strive For Healthy Morning

One way to help children to do well in school is to feed them healthy meals, especially for breakfast.

Roberta Anding, a registered dietitian at the Texas Children’s Hopsital  in Houston says, “children need breakfast everyday for a variety of reasons.  She also mentions, “Actively growing children need food at regular intervals to fuel their bodies and brains.  Skipping breakfast gives as much as a 10-12-hour time frame with no food, and the potential for compromised school performance and irritability.”

Children who do eat breakfast have a better regulation of body weight, Anding states.  By eating breakfast is will increase the chances of an overall healthier diet and less chances of childhood obesity.  Children who start the day by eating a healthy breakfast are more likely to play sports and be more active which also helps prevent childhood obesity.  Eating breakfast will also improve a child’s ability to concentrate and perform in school.

Come up with healthy breakfast ideas for kids.  “Healthy options include whole grain, low-sugar cereal with low-fat milk and fresh fruit, or a yogurt berry parfait with granola,” says Anding.  Or consider offering your kids a whole-grain English muffin with peanut butter or jelly and a glass of low fat milk.  There are any healthy options for kids, like scrambled eggs with lightly buttered toast, turkey bacon or sausage with a side of fresh fruit, a whole-grain bagel and cream cheese with a side of strawberries, and low fat cheese toast with cantaloupe or blueberries.  Try to avoid giving kids sweet foods in the morning such as doughnuts, or cereals that are high in sugar, because when the sugar wears off, the kids are likely to get tired and don’t have energy to be active.

Anding suggests when time is a factor, make breakfast portable.  She says, “Try sandwiches, like peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese leftover from dinner.  Dry cereal in a sandwich baggie and a 100 percent real-juice juice box can make breakfast stree-free.”

You can save some time if you plan breakfast the night before.  A busy working mother and director of Temple Trager Preschool in Louisville, KY, says, “This will allow you to plan ahead and know how much time you need in the morning.  That way everyone isn’t saying: ‘I don’t know what I want,’ or asking for something you don’t have.”

Healthy breakfast meals do not have to be time consuming or ever homemade.  You can find prepared healthy breakfast foods that can go into the microwave, just look in the freezer section at the grocery store for pre-made meals.  Like most families, you might be in a hurry in the morning, just grab a banana or a Nutrigrain bar, it’s healthy and on the go!

Weight Loss Camps For Teen for Summer Foods!

Weight Loss Camps For Teen for Summer Foods!

When people say that summer means that there is more exercise and healthier food choices for everyone, they are wrong.  In fact, studies show that kids actually gain weight three times faster during the summer then they would during the school year.  There is temptation everywhere during the summer from fairs, barbecues, and even waterside food vendors.  Here are examples of food that families should avoid during the summer and healthier options that people should eat instead.

During the summer everyone enjoys ice cream more than ever, it’s cold and delicious.  Ice cream sandwiches usually contain 500 calories just in one and 60% of it is saturated fat.  Fried dough is usually offered during the summer, so of course everyone will want to get some while it’s in season.  It is not bad to have once or maybe twice a year, but every time you go to a fair there will be that temptation to get some more.  Fried and battered food are considered to be the worst sources of trans fat.  Trans fat raises bad cholesterol, while it lowers good cholesterol, which can increase inflammation in your body.  Corn dogs are far from healthy, actually anything that is deep-fried should usually be avoided; its packed with about 20 grams of fat and sodium.  For a better solution, try finding a hot dog that is under 150 calories and 14 grams of fat with a limit sodium under 450 milligrams, and eat it on a whole grain bun.

Lobster rolls may sound healthy, but the lobster is mixed with mayo, then put inside a buttered white bread bun and it contains over 400 calories and most of it is fat.  Try to make your own, use a little bit of low-fat mayo, put them on a whole-wheat roll with a limited amount of butter.  Don’t make fried clams as a meal.  A one three-fourth cup serving of fried clams contain nearly 500 calories and 26 grams of fat.  Try to eat clams cooked, not fried.  Cooked clams pack protein and are a good source of vitamin b12, which helps for a healthy nervous system and prevents anemia.

No matter the size, ribs should stay off your diet.  A quarter pound of ribs contains 288 calories and loaded with saturated fat and that’s before adding BBQ sauce.  When you cook ribs at home, don’t add BBQ sauce but flavor the meat with low-fat spices such as mustard, garlic, and chili powder.  Daiquiris always sound great, especially serving them in the summertime.  An 8-ounce strawberry daiquiri has more calories than a double-patty burger and is loaded with fat and sugar.  Macaroni and potato salad is made up of mayonnaise which makes these salads taste so good.  When you make your own, use low-fat mayo or heart healthy unsaturated fats such as olive oil.

Compare our Standards.
Weight Loss Camps For Teens Ready
Weight Loss Camps For Teen
Tennis players at weight loss camp We are Kids weight loss camp with high standards. Most weight loss camps are not ACA accredited. We are. Why is this so important? ACA accreditation is the best evidence parents have of a camp’s commitment to a safe and nurturing environment for their children. This voluntary accreditation assures parents that camp practices have been measured against national standards and go a step beyond a state’s basic licensing requirements. Be careful. Some chains of fitness camps only accredit a single location and not all owned camps.

Compare our Setting.
Both New Image Camps’ properties boast a traditional camp setting on lakefront properties.
Our campers are offered their own beds (no bunks here) and the camps feature amenities including indoor gymnasiums, obstacle courses, aerobics studios, sports fields, pools and more. Better yet, our properties are used exclusively by our camps; we do not share with outside groups.
Whether nestled in the mountains or shaded by palm trees, our locations and settings can’t be beat!
